DCM Shriram Rallies 7% on MoU with Bayer for Future-Ready Agriculture

Shares of DCM Shriram Ltd jumped 7% to touch a day’s high of Rs 1,319.80 on 11th December, after the company announced that it has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bayer CropScience Ltd to accelerate sustainable, innovative, and farmer-focused agricultural development across India. The MoU, signed on 10th December, outlines collaboration across agri-inputs, digital advisory tools, sustainable farming models, and value-chain enhancement.

Under the partnership, the two companies will explore joint opportunities in crop protection, seeds, speciality plant nutrition, biologicals, and digital farming platforms.

They will also look at new ways to support farmer organisations. Additionally, they aim to promote environmentally responsible agriculture through pilot projects on soil health, carbon sequestration, and integrated crop management. Both sides will evaluate potential collaborations in select areas of the chemicals sector.

DCM Shriram said the partnership brings together complementary strengths. This support aims to enable sustainable, productive agriculture and create long-term value for farmers and the broader ecosystem.

Bayer CropScience CEO Simon Wiebusch said the collaboration comes at a crucial time for Indian agriculture. The sector is undergoing a major transformation. He added that the partnership will improve market access. It will strengthen value-chain linkages and help farmers tap into new opportunities. Importantly, they will combine both companies’ expertise to scale solutions faster and drive lasting positive impact.
