With a market capitalization of Rs. 2,79,061.19 Crores on Monday, the shares of Hindustan Zinc Ltd jumped upto 4.7 percent, reaching a high of Rs. 667.40 compared to its previous close of Rs. 637.35.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd, engaged in the integrated mining and smelting of zinc, lead, and silver, is in the spotlight today as they have announced their Q3 results as follows:

Its Revenue from operations rose by 27.4 percent YoY from Rs. 8,614 Crores in Q3FY25 to Rs. 10,980 Crores in Q3FY26, and it rose by 28.4 percent QoQ from Rs. 8,549 Crores in Q2FY26 to Rs. 10,980 Crores in Q3FY26.

Its Net Profit YoY rose by 46 percent from Rs. 2,678 Crores in Q3FY25 to Rs. 3,916 Crores in Q3FY26, and on a QoQ basis, it rose by 47.8 percent from Rs. 2,649 Crores in Q2FY26 to Rs. 3,916 Crores in Q3FY26.  The earnings per share (EPS) for the quarterly period stood at Rs. 9.27, compared to Rs. 6.34 in the previous year’s quarter.

The company demonstrates exceptionally strong profitability, with ROCE of 60.7% and ROE of 72.4%, indicating highly efficient use of both capital employed and shareholders’ equity. This performance is consistent over time, as reflected in a solid 3-year average ROE of 55%, highlighting a strong and sustainable return track record.

With a moderate debt-to-equity ratio of 0.82, the company balances leverage prudently while still enhancing returns. Additionally, it has maintained a healthy dividend payout of 164%, underscoring robust cash flows and management’s confidence in rewarding shareholders while sustaining operations.

Revenue Segmentation

During Q2FY25-26, revenue generation from Zinc, Lead, and other metals increased from Rs. 6,832 crore to Rs. 7,932 crore, marking a growth of about 16.1%. Silver saw a sharp rise from Rs. 1,465 crore to Rs. 2,676 crore, reflecting a significant 82.6% increase. Overall, the total value grew from Rs. 8,297 crore to Rs. 10,608 crore, representing an approximate 27.9% increase during the period.

Segment Results from December 2024 to December 2025, Zinc, Lead, and other metals increased from Rs. 2,406 crore to Rs. 2,904 crore, reflecting a 20.7% growth. Silver saw a sharp rise from Rs. 1,272 crore to Rs. 2,285 crore, marking a 79.6% increase. Overall, the total segment grew from Rs. 3,678 crore to Rs. 5,189 crore, representing an approximate 41.1% increase during the period. As of December 2025, Silver contributed approximately 44 percent which is Rs. 2,285 crore, to the total segment results of Rs. 5,189 crore.

Hindustan Zinc is India’s only integrated zinc producer and the world’s largest in its category, with over 50 years of operational experience. It prioritises the safety of the workforce and the conservation of natural resources through technology and innovation. With a total R&R base of 453.2 million tonnes and an average zinc-lead grade of 6.5%, the mines have a life of over 25 years.

The company is fully integrated zinc operations dominating India’s primary zinc market with a 77% share. Additionally, it is among the top five silver producers globally, with an annual production capacity of 800 MT, reflecting the strong presence and expertise in the metals industry.
