Honasa Consumer jumps 8% after reporting ₹26 Cr profit in Q3 against ₹18 Cr loss in Q2

The shares of this small cap stock that offers personal care products via its online platform, jumped 8 percent on Thursday after its Q3 results revealed a turnaround from loss to profit on a quarterly basis.

Price Action

With a market capitalization of Rs 7,048.68 crore, Honasa Consumer Ltd rose 8 percent in Thursday’s trading session and made a high of Rs 222.10 per share compared to its previous closing price of Rs 204.75 per share. 

The stock retraced from its day’s high and was trading at Rs 216.10 which is 5.5 percent higher than the previous closing price.

What Happened

Honasa Consumer Ltd stock surged after the company reported its Q3FY24-25 results. Its total income grew by 7.5 percent year on year from Rs 499 crore to Rs 536.7 crore in Q3FY25 and it grew by 11 percent quarter on quarter from Rs 481.8 crore in Q2FY25.

The company’s net profit rose by 0.5 percent from Rs 25.9 crores to Rs 26 crore. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the Q3 results revealed a turnaround from a loss of Rs 18.5 crore in Q2 FY25. 

Further the company’s EPS saw a 2 percent decrease year on year from Rs 0.82 to Rs 0.80. On a quarterly basis a negative EPS of Rs 0.57 shifted to positive.

Company Overview 

Honasa Consumer Ltd, the parent company of popular skincare brand MamaEarth, provides e-commerce services primarily in the beauty industry. Their diverse product portfolio includes skin, body and hair care products as well as baby products among others. The company operates under popular brand names such as Mamaearth, Aqualogica, The Derma Co., Dr. Sheth’s and Ayuga Brands.

Mamaearth has solidified its market presence, now standing as the top online brand and the third in offline sales for face washes. Over the past two years, it has seen value market share increases of +114 basis points in face wash and +20 basis points in shampoo. The brand also increased its FMCG retail presence by 22 percent year-over-year, reaching 216,814 outlets in India as of December 2024. Apart from this, the company’s younger brands such as Aqualogica have seen a 30 percent year on year increase.
