Mikie Sherrill has been elected as the 57th governor of New Jersey, defeating Republican Jack Ciattarelli in a closely watched race. A graduate of the USNA and LSE, she also earned a JD from Georgetown University. Sherrill served nine years as a US Navy helicopter pilot and later worked as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA). She was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2018 and has now risen to the role of governor-elect.
