PDS Signs Multi Year Sourcing Deal with French Retailer

Shares of PDS soars on BSE on Monday after the company signed a new sourcing deal with a French supermarket chain.

Under the deal, PDS will run the retailer’s textile sourcing operations across five countries: Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Turkey. A dedicated operating subsidiary has been set up specifically to handle this.

The retailer is one of the world’s largest retail groups, serving millions of customers daily through stores across multiple countries.

The arrangement is structured as a Sourcing as a Service, or SaaS, partnership. PDS will take on end to end sourcing and supply chain work for the retailer, moving it toward a more agile sourcing setup.

Once running, the company expects to manage apparel sourcing worth more than $250 million in FOB volume each year. The deal is set to begin on November 1.

This adds to PDS’s broader project pipeline. The company has previously secured a Rs 450 crore sourcing contract from a leading US value retailer, and separately raised Rs 430 crore through a QIP to fund its global expansion plans.

Executive Vice Chairman Pallak Seth said the deal reflects the strength of PDS’s platform model and its ability to deliver sourcing at scale.

Group CEO Sanjay Jain said years spent building out digital capabilities and operational systems have made the company capable of supporting large global retailers like this one.

By close, PDS shares settled at Rs 357.25 on the BSE, up 0.27% for the day.
