PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida Airport on 28th March

Delhi-NCR is set to get a major aviation boost. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport at Jewar on 28th March. This marks the region’s second international gateway.

The Prime Minister will visit the site in Gautam Buddha Nagar around 11:30 AM. He will tour the terminal. Then he will formally inaugurate Phase I at noon and deliver a public address.

The airport is expected to ease congestion at Delhi’s IGI Airport. It will strengthen overall capacity in the NCR, and both airports will work as a combined aviation network.

Built under a PPP model at a cost of around Rs 11,200 crore, Phase I will handle 12 million passengers annually. There are plans to scale up to 70 million over time.

The airport features a 3,900-metre runway for wide-body aircraft and advanced landing systems. It also supports 24/7 all-weather operations and a dedicated cargo and logistics hub.

It is also designed as a sustainable project, focusing on energy efficiency and long-term net-zero emission goals. Meanwhile, it offers multi-modal connectivity via road, rail, metro, and regional transport networks.
