Synopsis: Shares of Regaal Resources surged nearly 39% this week, drawing strong investor attention. The rally was supported by a mix of technical rebound, strong trading volumes, improving revenue growth, promoter buying activity, and the company’s low free float. These factors together amplified buying interest and drove sharp price momentum in the small-cap stock.
Regaal Resources Limited (RRL) is a leading agro-processing company in India, specialising in the manufacturing of maize starch, speciality starches, food-grade starches, and starch derivative products, and its shares have gone through a sharp rally in recent trading sessions as its stock has appreciated by nearly 39%, and the rally observed in the stock has caught significant attention from investors and traders as a result of the heightened buying activity.
With a market cap of Rs 900 crore, the shares of Regaal Resources Ltd have gained about 39% in this week’s trading session and reached a high of Rs 87.69. When compared to Monday’s opening price of Rs 63.12. The shares are trading at a PE of 16.4, whereas their industry’s PE is at 25.5.
Technical rebound from earlier lows attracting momentum traders
The stock had corrected from its earlier lows around its 52-week lows of around Rs 57 earlier this year. The stock has seen a strong technical rebound from these levels. Technical bounces from such earlier lows are usually attractive to momentum traders. The strong price move from its earlier resistance levels is likely to attract more investors to the stock.
Spike in Trading Volumes
The recent rally in the stock has also seen a significant surge in trading volumes. It indicates a high degree of participation of various market participants in the stock. During the last stock exchange session, more than 2 crore shares of the stock were traded in the stock exchange. It is much higher than the usual daily volumes of the stock.
Revenue Growth
Fundamental factors have also helped the stock achieve a rally in recent times. The stock reported a year-over-year revenue growth of approximately 25.7 per cent. Its total income increased to approximately Rs 323.3 crore. It indicates a high degree of demand in the agro-processing and edible oil business segments of the company.
Promoter buying indicates confidence
The rally could also have been fuelled by promoter buying activity. The company’s managing director, Mr Anil Kishorepuria, has bought 1.5 lakhs of shares amounting to Rs 1.06 crores. Promoter buying is a clear indication of confidence that can induce more buying activity in the market as well.
Low free-float amplifying price movements
The other major cause of the rally is that the company has a low free float. The promoters hold more than 70% of the total equity. The low free float means that only a few shares are available for trading in the market. Even a moderate amount of buying activity can cause a sharp movement in the stock prices. The rapid movement in Regaal Resources’ stock prices is a clear indication of this phenomenon. The low free float has caused a sharp movement in Regaal Resources’ stock prices this week.
The rally observed in Regaal Resources’ stock is a result of trading activity, volume, improved top line, promoter buying activity, and low free float as a percentage of total equity.
