Semiconductor stock jumps 5% after it plans to launch India’s First SiC semiconductor production

This Semiconductor stock is in focus after it jumped 4.77 percent following the report of the Launch of India’s First SiC Semiconductor production in Odisha with an investment of Rs. 618 Crore.

Share Price Movement

With a market capitalization of Rs. 1,799 Crore, the stock of RIR Power Electronics opened at Rs. 2,330, up 2 percent from yesterday’s close, and after opening, it made a high of 2,394, up 4.77 percent. Additionally, the Yearly return for the stock is 169 percent, and the past 5-year return is an impressive 7,820 percent.

Business Update

The company stated that they will launch India’s First SiC semiconductor production in Odisha. With an Investment of Rs. 618 Crore, and the phase one production is expected to commence by December of 2025.

In Phase one of the production company will manufacture Epitaxy Wafer, which is used to enhance performance, efficiency, and miniaturization of electronics. The investment aligns with India’s strengthening of domestic  manufacturing capabilities under the Make in India Initiative to produce high power Mosfets and Diodes from 3.3KV to 20KV.

Financial Highlights

The company reported a 35.07 percent YoY increase in revenue from Rs. 14.71 Crore in Q3FY24 to Rs. 19.87 Crore in Q3FY25. On a QoQ basis, the company reported an increase of 5.57 percent in revenue from Rs. 18.82 Crore in the previous quarter.

On a standalone basis their Net profit saw a decrease of 4.19 percent YoY from Rs. 1.43 Crore to Rs. 1.37 Crore for the same period. On a QoQ basis, the company reported a decrease of 10.45 percent in Net profit from Rs. 1.53 Crore in the previous quarter.
