Nine-time Indian National Motorcycle Racing champion Rajini had long back highlighted the need to commercialise the sport through competitions akin to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Pro Kabaddi League, amongst others. Rajini had also appealed to the spectators to take greater interest in competitive motorbike racing, which could draw more sponsors towards the players.
