Shares of WPIL Ltd ended 7.75% higher on 15th December. This came after the company announced that its South African subsidiary, PCI Africa Consortium, has been awarded a Rs 1,340 crore contract. The contract is to upgrade and expand the Macassar Wastewater Treatment Works for the City of Cape Town.

WPIL said its share of the project is estimated at around Rs 630 crore. The contract is expected to be executed over 54 months.

Despite the strong gain, the stock is still trading below its key moving averages. The 50-day moving average stands at Rs 421, while the 200-day moving average is at Rs 423. This indicates continued technical weakness.
