Baazar Style Retail Hits 5% Upper Circuit on Strong Q1

Shares of Baazar Style Retail hit a 5% upper circuit at Rs 307.80 on Thursday, after Q1 revenue jumped 29% year on year.

Standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs 486 crore, up from Rs 377.8 crore in the same period last year.

The growth wasn’t just from new stores either. Same-store sales, meaning sales growth at stores that have already been open for a while, rose 7%.

That’s worth noting because it shows demand is coming from existing shoppers spending more, not simply from the company adding new locations.

The company did keep expanding its store network as well. It opened 18 new stores during the quarter and shut 5 that weren’t performing well, taking its total store count to 276, up from 232 a year earlier.

Sales per square foot, a measure of how efficiently each store is being used, rose to Rs 679 per month from Rs 663 a year ago.

The company’s overall footprint grew alongside the store count. Total rental area across its outlets rose 22% year-on-year to 25.8 lakh square feet, up from 21.17 lakh square feet a year earlier.

Baazar Style Retail flagged that these revenue figures still need to go through a limited review by its statutory auditors, which is standard practice for quarterly business updates ahead of full results.

The stock has had a decent run this year overall. It’s up around 14% so far in 2026, and Thursday’s rally adds to that. The stock closed at Rs 307.80 on the NSE, locked at the 5% upper circuit, up from Wednesday’s close of Rs 293.15.
