Emcure-Roche Partner for Kidney, Anemia Drugs in India

Emcure Pharmaceuticals is strengthening its presence in kidney and anaemia care with a new partnership.

On 2nd March, the company signed a distribution agreement with Roche to market select nephrology and transplant products in India. The agreement will come into effect from 1st April, 2026.

Under the deal, Emcure will distribute Roche’s established brands in the nephrology and transplant segment nationwide. The portfolio includes CellCept, an immunosuppressant used in organ transplants, as well as Mircera and Neorecormon, which are used to treat anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Mircera is a long-acting erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) that is administered once every two to four weeks.

Satish Mehta, Managing Director and CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, said the partnership aligns with the company’s focus on improving outcomes in anaemia and renal care, adding that it aims to expand access to critical therapies and support doctors in delivering better treatment.

Rajji Mehdwan, Managing Director and CEO of Roche India & Neighbouring Markets, said Emcure’s strong distribution network and clinical engagement will help these medicines reach more patients who can benefit from Roche’s innovations in transplant and CKD care.

Emcure said the collaboration is aimed at expanding patient access to chronic kidney disease, anaemia management, and transplant care. The Pune-based company operates in more than 70 countries, while Roche India is a subsidiary of the Switzerland-based Roche Group.
