MoEngage Strengthens Marketing Platform with Acquisition of Aampe

Customer engagement SaaS company MoEngage has acquired San Francisco-based AI startup Aampe in an all-cash transaction, marking a significant step in its strategy to expand AI-driven personalization capabilities for brands.

While the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, the acquisition brings Aampe’s advanced agentic decisioning technology directly into MoEngage’s platform, enhancing its ability to deliver individualized customer experiences at scale.

As part of the transaction, Aampe’s founders, Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler, and Sami Abboud, along with nearly 20 team members, will join MoEngage to lead the company’s next phase of AI decisioning innovation.

Founded in 2020, Aampe developed a unique AI infrastructure that assigns autonomous software agents to individual users. These agents continuously determine the most relevant content, optimal delivery timing, communication frequency, and preferred engagement channel for each customer. The technology is already used by prominent brands such as Swiggy, Grab, Taxfix, and ZenBusiness.

According to MoEngage CEO Raviteja Dodda, the rapid evolution of generative AI has shifted marketers’ focus from content creation to content relevance. By integrating Aampe’s reinforcement-learning engine, MoEngage aims to help brands automatically identify the right message for every customer rather than relying on broad audience segments.

The acquisition also allows MoEngage to offer Aampe’s technology to companies using competing customer engagement platforms, significantly expanding its addressable market.

The deal follows several major developments for MoEngage over the past six months. In November 2025, the company raised $100 million from Goldman Sachs Alternatives and A91 Partners to accelerate AI innovation and strengthen its North American presence. In January 2026, it also secured NCLT approval for its corporate restructuring, a move widely viewed as preparation for future growth initiatives.

With annual recurring revenue now exceeding $100 million and strong momentum in North America, MoEngage expects the acquisition to contribute additional revenue while supporting its long-term goal of reaching $150 million ARR and sustained profitability by FY27.
