About the orders
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has received a Letter of Acceptance from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd for setting up a Cyber Security Operations Centre to protect IT/OT systems, along with 5-year maintenance. The domestic contract is valued at approximately Rs. 48.38 crore and is scheduled to be completed by January 17, 2027.
It has also received a domestic work order from the Bihar Education Project Council for serving as an implementation partner to enhance education quality in selected government schools across Bihar under the PM SHRI scheme. The contract is valued at approximately Rs. 168.75 crore and is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2026. The total value of both orders secured by the company is approximately Rs. 217.13 crore.
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, focused on providing broadband and telecom infrastructure across the country. It leverages the extensive railway network to build a nationwide optical fibre backbone, offering services like high-speed internet, data centre solutions, cloud services, and VPN connectivity to businesses, government institutions, and telecom operators. As of December 2025, the company’s order book was approximately Rs. 8,497 crore.
The company reported a mixed performance in Q3FY26, with revenue rising 19% YoY to Rs. 913 crore from Rs. 768 crore. EBITDA grew 10% YoY to Rs. 133 crore from Rs. 121 crore, while net profit decreased by 4% YoY to Rs. 62.4 crore from Rs. 65 crore. However, EPS declined 4% YoY to Rs. 1.94, indicating slight pressure on profitability margins.
