UC Investments, TVS Venu Group emerge as key co-investors in ₹16,600 crore RCB buyout consortium

Two major investor groups—UC Investments, which manages over $210 billion of University of California retirement and endowment assets, and the promoter family of the TVS Venu Group—have emerged as key co-investors in the multi-party consortium acquiring Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The structure involves separate SPVs led by the Aditya Birla Group and the Times of India Group, with both entities bringing in additional domestic and global high-net-worth investors. The $1.78 billion acquisition, announced in March, remains subject to regulatory approvals, including from the BCCI and CCI, marking one of the most complex ownership transitions in IPL history.
