BHEL Hits 52-Week High After Strong Q1 Results

BHEL shares hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 446.50 on the NSE on 17 July 2026, a day after the company posted a sharp Q1 FY27 turnaround.

BHEL swung to a consolidated net profit of Rs 376.71 crore in Q1 FY27, against a loss of Rs 455.50 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue jumped 40.29% year on year to Rs 7,697.72 crore, well ahead of what most analysts had pencilled in.

The power segment did the heavy lifting. Revenue from this business rose 51.82% to Rs 5,919.50 crore, up from Rs 3,898.86 crore a year earlier, and the segment itself flipped from a loss to a healthy profit.

The industry segment also grew, with revenue up nearly 12% to Rs 1,778.22 crore. EBITDA came in at Rs 504 crore. That is a big shift from the EBITDA loss the company reported in the same quarter last year.

BHEL announced these results in an exchange filing on 16 July, and the stock reacted immediately. Shares surged 4.56% that day to close near Rs 437, and the buying has carried into today’s session as well.

There is a natural comparison point here too. Profit fell 70.8% compared to the March 2026 quarter, but that quarter is seasonally the strongest for the company, so the sequential dip is not unusual and does not take away from the year on year turnaround.

Looking further back, BHEL closed FY25 with revenue of Rs 27,350 crore, up 19% for the year, and its highest ever annual order inflows. That trend of rising execution and order wins appears to be feeding directly into this quarter’s numbers.

As of 11:48 am, BHEL shares were trading at Rs 432.55 on the NSE, down 0.33% from the previous close of Rs 435.40.

Even with today’s slight pullback from the morning high, the stock remains close to its 52-week peak and has gained around 49% since the start of 2026.
