RailTel Corp Shares Soar 7% on Securing Rs 4,550 Crore Contract 

Shares of Railtel Corporation of India Ltd soared 7% on 10 February after the company announced securing a Rs 4,550 crore contract from West Central Railway on Monday.

In an exchange filing, Railtel reported that the estimated size of the order as per the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is Rs 4,54,94,74,871. The contract is to be implemented within 960 days, with the execution timetable up to 24 September 2028.

While Railtel has lost almost 4.04% year to date, the company has gained nearly 3% over the last year.

Railtel’s net profit in the December quarter of FY26 decreased by 4% to Rs 62.4 crore from Rs 65 crore the previous year. Revenue increased by 19% to Rs 913.4 crore from Rs 767.6 crore, with a 10% increase in EBITDA to Rs 133 crore from Rs 121 crore.

The company operates in two primary segments: telecom services and project work services. The overall segmental revenue was Rs 913.45 crore, up from Rs 767 crore in the third quarter of FY25. Revenue from telecom services was Rs 349.5 crore, while project work services contributed Rs 564 crore.

At 12:29 pm, the shares of RailTel Corporation of India were trading 4.69% higher at Rs 347.75 on NSE.
