UP AI Push: Rs 25,000 Cr Deal for Parks & University

Uttar Pradesh (UP) is going all-in on AI—and the scale is hard to ignore.

The state has signed a Rs 25,000 crore deal with Puch AI to build a strong artificial intelligence ecosystem. The plan includes AI Parks, large data centres, an AI Commons, and even a dedicated AI University.

This push isn’t happening in isolation. Back in January at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the state secured major investment commitments, including another Rs 25,000 crore deal with Essar Group. These investments are focused on key sectors such as power, logistics, warehousing, and data infrastructure.

At the same time, SA Technologies will set up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in the state to deliver digital solutions and create high-value tech jobs.

The bigger picture is even more ambitious. Cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Varanasi, and Prayagraj are being developed into AI and IT hubs.

Leading this transformation is Lucknow, which is being positioned as India’s first AI City. A 40-acre site near the airport along the Lucknow–Kanpur highway has been earmarked for a full-fledged ecosystem covering startups, data analytics, AI training, and more.

To support this, the state is collaborating with institutions like IIT Kanpur, IIM Lucknow, and APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.

The idea is simple: build infrastructure, attract investment, and turn Uttar Pradesh into a serious AI and tech destination.
