Bluspring Hits 52-Week High on Rs 1,437 Cr Vedanta Deal

Bluspring Enterprises shares hit a fresh 52 week high of Rs 131.60 on Friday, 3 July, after its unit won a big Vedanta contract.

The rally started right at the open and the stock stayed strong through the session. What triggered the move was fairly simple.

STEAG Energy Services India, a step down subsidiary of Bluspring, secured a big operations and maintenance contract from Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited.

Let’s break down what this deal actually involves. The contract is worth Rs 1,437.17 crore and will run for five years, starting 1 August 2026.

Under the agreement, STEAG will handle the complete operations and maintenance of Vedanta’s 1,215 MW captive power plant, which is made up of nine separate 135 MW units.

In simple terms, the company will be responsible for running and maintaining this power facility on Vedanta’s behalf for the next five years. This isn’t the first time Bluspring has worked with the Vedanta Group.

In June this year, the same subsidiary secured extensions on two existing O&M contracts with Vedanta entities. It also won a separate contract worth Rs 2,049.8 crore from BALCO for another large thermal power plant.

These wins came after Bluspring completed its acquisition of STEAG Energy Services India in March 2026, a deal that gave the company the technical capability to manage large scale power plants in the first place.

Taken together, these recent contract wins have added significant scale to Bluspring’s order book in a short span of time.

As of 14:14 pm on Friday, Bluspring shares were trading at Rs 124.80 on the BSE, up 4.30% from the previous close of Rs 119.65.

The stock had opened at Rs 123.15 and dipped to a low of Rs 119.85 earlier in the session. The company’s market capitalisation currently stands at around Rs 1,865 crore.
