Coforge Shares Soar 6% on Approval from RBI 

Shares of Coforge Ltd soared 6% on 1 April after the company gained approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for an offshore investment of more than $1 billion in connection with the merger with Encora.
 
According to the petition, Coforge has secured additional regulatory permission for its continuing acquisition of Encora. According to the business, the RBI has cleared its more than $1 billion offshore investment in the deal.

“We are pleased to announce that today, the Company has now received approval from the Reserve Bank of India for Overseas Direct Investment exceeding USD One Billion under Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules,” the filing read.

This transaction was announced in December 2025 and still needs a few more permits from various nations. Coforge has already received permission from US antitrust authorities, shareholders, and certain international competition agencies, notably in Australia.

The company stated that the remaining approvals are nearing completion and that it will inform exchanges as soon as they are received. In short, the Encora transaction is progressing, and RBI clearance is a significant step forward.

The transaction will immediately increase Coforge’s presence in the high-tech and healthcare sectors, with each vertical estimated to generate approximately $170 million in sales following the merger.

At 12:40 pm, the shares of Coforge were trading 4.86% higher at Rs 1,168.90 on NSE.
