Glenmark, Granules Rally on US Drug Approvals

Glenmark and Granules India shares rose Monday, hitting fresh highs after both drugmakers landed key US regulatory approvals.

Both moves were driven by news out of their US generics business. Glenmark’s American arm has launched Olanzapine for Injection in the 10 mg strength.

It is a generic version of Zyprexa Intramuscular Injection, a drug used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Citing IQVIA data, Glenmark said the reference drug logged annual sales of around $25.4 million in the 12 months to May 2026.

The company said the launch builds on its injectables business and its push into hospitals and institutional healthcare in the US.

Granules India had its own moment. The company has secured sole first-to-file status from the US drug regulator for its generic version of LUMRYZ, a medicine used for narcolepsy-related sleep issues.

This is the second time Granules has landed this kind of exclusive first-mover approval, after an earlier one for a generic version of Dyanavel XR.

Granules’ Chairman and Managing Director, Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, said the approval points to the company’s growing strength in research and regulatory work, and fits into its broader plan of building a stronger portfolio of complex generic drugs for markets like the US.

Both stocks have had a good run lately. Glenmark shares are up close to 12% over the past month, while Granules India has gained around 8% in the same period, as per NSE data.

At 12:08 pm, Glenmark shares were trading at Rs 2,266, up 2.49% for the day. Granules India was trading at Rs 850.95, up 2.06%, at 12:09 pm on the NSE.
