Poonawalla Fincorp Raises Rs 2,500 Cr via QIP at Rs 370.75 Per Share

Shares of Poonawalla Fincorp Limited closed 2.12% higher at Rs 408.75 on 13 April after the non-bank lender disclosed it had successfully completed a Rs 2,500 crore qualified institutions placement, recovering nearly 6% from its intraday low of Rs 387.35.

In an exchange filing on 13 April, the company revealed it issued 6.74 crore equity shares at Rs 370.75 per share, a 5% discount to the QIP floor price of Rs 390.26. The issue opened on 9 April and closed on 13 April, with the Committee of Directors approving the allotment at a meeting held that evening.

The placement drew participation from a broad set of institutional buyers. Kotak Large & Midcap Fund and Nippon India Small Cap Fund each received 12% of the total issue. Societe Generale took 9.33%, while ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and HDFC Life Insurance received 7% and 6.67% respectively. Franklin India Mid Cap Fund was allotted 5% of the issue.

Following the allotment, Poonawalla Fincorp’s paid-up equity share capital rose to Rs 176.04 crore comprising 88.02 crore shares, from Rs 162.56 crore comprising 81.28 crore shares. Kotak Mahindra Capital, Jefferies India and JPMorgan India acted as book running lead managers for the placement.

Registered with the Reserve Bank of India as an ND-SI-NBFC, the company reported assets under management of Rs 55,017 crore as of 31 December 2025. The stock is down 15.30% year-to-date and trades 28% below its 52-week high of Rs 570.40.
