RailTel Bags Rs 13.6 Cr Thane Civic Tech Order

Shares of RailTel touched a day’s high of Rs 311.90 on 30 June, after it won a new order from a municipal body in Thane.

RailTel has received a Letter of Intent from Thane Municipal Corporation for a project worth Rs 13.6 crore, including taxes.

Under this deal, the company will act as the technology partner for a citizen engagement platform called DigiThane.

The scope of work includes developing, upgrading, running and maintaining the platform, and the contract will stay in force for a long stretch of 10 years, right up to June 2036.

RailTel has confirmed that neither its promoters nor any group company have a stake in the awarding body, so this is not a related party deal.

This isn’t the company’s first order this week either. Just a day earlier, RailTel had bagged a Rs 27.06 crore work order from the Goa Labour Welfare Board to build an online portal for the board, which is expected to be completed by August 2026.

On the earnings side, RailTel’s numbers have also been improving. The company’s consolidated net profit rose 25% year on year to Rs 142 crore in the March quarter, while revenue climbed 28% to Rs 1,669 crore.

The board has also recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.25 per share for FY26.

At 14:21 pm on 30 June, shares of the New Delhi based PSU were trading at Rs 308.40 on the NSE, up 0.72% for the day. The stock remains well below its 52 week high of Rs 436.50 and is down close to 17% so far this year.
