As energy storage gains momentum in India’s power sector, Solarworld Energy is securing fresh project wins.
Solarworld Energy Solutions Ltd has bagged two BESS (battery energy storage system) EPC contracts from NTPC Limited. The total value of these contracts is worth around Rs 283 crore.
The projects fall under “Lot-2” and involve the implementation of energy storage at two thermal power stations.
The first contract, worth about Rs 108.22 crore, is for a 50 MW/100 MWh BESS at the Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station.
The second contract, valued at around Rs 176.91 crore, is for a 75 MW/150 MWh BESS at the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station.
Both projects are domestic EPC contracts aimed at strengthening energy storage infrastructure. The execution timeline for both projects is 15 months from the date of award.
The company confirmed that these are not related-party transactions and that the promoters have no interest in the awarding entity.
