Hindustan Copper Wins Rs 470 Cr Order for 3 MTPA MP Plant

As demand for copper rises across EVs and clean energy, Hindustan Copper is stepping up capacity expansion.

The company will place a work order worth around Rs 470 crore for a 3 MTPA copper concentrate plant in Madhya Pradesh.

The contract has been awarded to Ardee Engineering Ltd for the facility setup at the Malanjkhand Copper Project. The project cost stands at Rs 469.55 crore (excluding GST) and is expected to be completed within 27 months.

The contract is on a turnkey basis, meaning Ardee Engineering will handle everything from design to commissioning.

The approval was cleared at the company’s 461st board meeting held on 30th March, 2026.

The expansion comes as the company strengthens output at its flagship Malanjkhand mine amid rising demand from the EV, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.

With this move, Hindustan Copper aims to scale up production and reduce India’s dependence on copper imports.
