Voltas Soars 5% After Crossing 1 Million AC Sales in Q1 FY27

Shares of Voltas Limited soared to a day high of Rs 1,411.90 on 22 June, jumping nearly 5%, after the Tata Group company announced it sold one million air conditioners in the first three months of the current financial year alone.

In a filing to the exchanges, Voltas said it crossed the one million sales milestone in FY27 faster than it has in any previous year, reinforcing its position as the number one brand in India’s room air conditioner market.

Managing Director Mukundan Menon said the milestone ‘reflects the trust that consumers have placed in our brand and the strength of the execution delivered by our teams and channel partners across the country.’

The company pointed to a combination of factors. A strong summer season played a big part. Beyond that, Voltas refreshed its product range across three clear segments: premium, mid-range and value, making it easier for buyers at different budgets to find something that fits.

The company also ran marketing campaigns around its AI-enabled AC range and leaned on its distribution network of over 25,000 touchpoints across the country.

For context, Voltas had hit the two million RAC sales mark for the full year 2023-24, which was an industry first at the time. Getting to one million in just one quarter of FY27 suggests the pace of growth is picking up.

On the quarterly financials, Voltas reported revenue of Rs 4,887.83 crore in Q4 FY26, up slightly from Rs 4,767.56 crore a year earlier. Net profit for the quarter fell 51.87% year on year to Rs 113.43 crore, weighed down by higher input costs and currency pressure.

At 13:28 pm on NSE, shares were trading up 1.24% at Rs 1,360, having given back most of the early morning gains after hitting the day high.
