Synopsis: Power infrastructure participant focusing on high-growth areas such as BESS, data centers, HVDC transmission, grid modernization and renewable integration. The company has an order book of over ₹1,400 crore and US$31 million in BESS orders, and has set up a new facility that can support nearly ₹1,500 crore in revenue, positioning it for long-term global expansion.
Introduction
The company is playing a long game and it’s betting on the right sectors. From battery energy storage systems and data centers to grid modernization and transmission technologies, it is quietly building a presence across some of the most capital-intensive and fast-moving corners of global infrastructure. A swelling order book and ongoing capacity additions suggest the foundation is already taking shape, with international markets increasingly in the frame as the next frontier.
BESS Emerging as a Major Growth Engine
Quality Power’s Management believes the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment will be a major growth driver in the next few years and Quality Power is expanding its footprint in this segment.
The company currently has BESS orders worth about US$ 31 million (around Rs. 300 crore) and expects further order accretions in FY27. As renewable energy capacity continues to expand worldwide, so too does the need for battery storage to balance power supply, improve the reliability of the grid and manage fluctuations in solar and wind generation.
The company sees a significant long-term opportunity for the company with the increasing use of energy storage solutions by utilities and renewable energy developers.
Dedicated PCS Platform Expands Market Presence
To deepen its participation in the energy storage value chain, Quality Power is investing in Power Conversion Systems (PCS), a critical component used in battery storage projects.
The company is developing its own 1,725 kW inverter platform while simultaneously setting up a dedicated PCS manufacturing facility. This move is expected to enhance the company’s product portfolio and allow it to address a larger portion of customer requirements within energy storage projects.
By building in-house capabilities in PCS technology, Quality Power aims to strengthen its position in international markets where demand for integrated storage solutions is growing rapidly.
Data Centers Creating a New Growth Opportunity
Quality Power is also benefiting from increased investment into hyperscale and AI-driven data centres, especially in the US and Europe. Management said it has already secured orders from this segment and is seeing increasing demand for products that help maintain power quality and ensure reliable electricity supply.
In a world where data centers are getting bigger and more energy-hungry, operators are investing heavily in infrastructure that can support continuous operations. This trend is creating opportunities for Quality Power to supply specialized equipment used in power management and grid connectivity applications.
New Manufacturing Facility to Support Future Growth
To prepare for higher demand across multiple business segments, Quality Power is undertaking a major capacity expansion. The company’s new manufacturing facility at Sangli is expected to be operational by FY27. The facility can generate revenue of around Rs.1,500 crore at peak utilisation, offering considerable headroom for future growth.
Expansion is expected to increase production capacity, allow for larger projects to be undertaken and broaden the company’s ability to serve domestic and international customers.
Strong Order Book Provides Revenue Visibility
Quality Power began FY27 with an order book of over Rs.1,400 crore, providing good visibility of future revenue generation. The backlog comprises renewable energy, transmission infrastructure, industrial applications and power quality solutions projects. This diversified order base reduces reliance on any single segment and provides stability as the company ramp up its operations also the company is expecting $ 30 – 40 million order by the end of this year. Management also said the project pipeline continues to be healthy in several emerging areas, providing confidence for future order inflows.
Technology-Led Expansion Strengthens Competitive Position
Alongside capacity growth, Quality Power is investing in technologies that can expand its addressable market and strengthen its competitive advantage. The company is building capabilities in GIS manufacturing, high-voltage testing, FACTS solutions, advanced power electronics, and grid-related technologies. These initiatives are aimed at increasing the company’s technological depth and enabling participation in more complex infrastructure projects.
As power networks become more sophisticated and renewable energy penetration rises, demand for advanced grid solutions is expected to increase, creating additional opportunities for technology-focused players.
Outlook
Quality Power is aligning its business with several structural growth themes shaping the future of the global power sector. Its focus on battery storage, power conversion systems, data center infrastructure, grid technologies, and transmission solutions positions it to benefit from rising investments across energy and digital infrastructure.
With a Rs.1,400 crore-plus order book, a growing presence in BESS, a dedicated PCS platform under development, and a large new manufacturing facility set to come online, Quality Power is building the foundation for its next phase of expansion.
While FY27 is expected to be a year of capacity ramp-up and execution, the company’s investments in technology, manufacturing, and emerging growth segments could support a significantly larger business over the medium to long term.
